We welcome Mrs Rebecca Barnett as Headteacher of the Nursery, Infant and Junior Schools
The start of the term has brought new beginnings for all our students as they begin the academic year in their new classes, start learning new topics and continue developing their skills.
This has also been a new beginning for Mrs Rebecca Barnett who has commenced her role as Headteacher of the Nursery, Infant and Junior Schools.
Over the summer, Mrs Barnett and her family relocated to Lancashire from Kenya, where they have lived for many years.
Mrs Barnett’s husband, Dan Barnett has also joined the Westholme family in his role in Sport and Marketing based at Senior School. Their daughters, Poppy and Willa, are also settling in well at Beardwood Bank.
It has been a very busy week for Mrs Barnett and she has thoroughly enjoyed meeting all our children and getting to know the staff team.
“This week we have met as a school in assembly to look at a variety of themes from Happiness, Wellbeing, New Beginnings and how to make people feel welcome and fit in. As well as this on both sites, we have celebrated with the children in our Celebration Assemblies. We have been pleased to celebrate Birthdays, Form Captains, LAMDA awards, Football Courses, Stars of the week and much, much more!
Other highlights have included Year 6’s first visit to Wilmar Lodge for lessons on a Thursday, Pre School and Nursery’s first Gym Tots sessions and meeting new class teachers. We have had a wonderful week and are really looking forward to the excitement of Clubs starting next week!”
We would like to extend a warm, Westholme welcome to Rebecca and her family; it certainly sounds like a busy week!
