Janet Royle

Hi there, I’m Janet Royle and I’m one of the LAMDA teachers at Westholme. I believe in the importance of the dramatic arts to boost self-confidence and stimulate the imaginations of young people like yourselves. Throughout your lives you will be called upon to play different roles from employees to leaders, learners to teachers and LAMDA lessons can help with your ability to adapt, change and improvise. More importantly, however, it’s fun!

I have many years of experience as an actor, singer and dancer performing in television and theatre shows throughout the world. I even helped my husband (comedian Steve Royle) in the final of Britain’s Got Talent last year which was great fun.

However, these days my first love is teaching and the LAMDA syllabus allows me to do that in a well-structured and rewarding way. LAMDA exams are recognised qualifications that may help you gain that extra boost when applying for higher education places and jobs vacancies.

Exams are tailored to individual preferences from Verse and Prose, through to Speaking in Public, Acting and Musical Theatre. The choice is yours. So, please consider LAMDA classes and help make yourself the best that you can be.
I hope to see you soon,

Janet Royle

Susie Potter

Hi! I’m Susie/Mrs Potter. I am one of the LAMDA teachers in school. I teach acting, public speaking, verse & prose and devising from the LAMDA syllabus.

I took acting LAMDA lessons myself when I was at school and then went on to act professionally in theatre and tv. The LAMDA exams helped me gain the confidence to do this. I hope that in my lessons you will also gain this confidence, whether it’s because you are an avid reader and love poetry (verse & prose) or love politics and want to write about your opinions on world views (public speaking) or maybe you have a great imagination with story telling and staging (devising). I can help guide your interests whilst working towards your exam. I look forward to meeting you in the new term!

Susan Eames

Susan studied singing at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She has sung with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and the BBC National Chorus, has been session singing and had numerous solo recitals across Europe as well as musical theatre productions. Now based in Pendle, Lancashire, she is a singing teacher and LAMDA Musical Theatre tutor at Westholme School, Blackburn, and Giggleswick School in Yorkshire having gained over 19 years extensive experience at numerous primary and secondary schools and sixth form colleges.

Susan is an accredited teacher for the ‘Vocal Process’  and also completed the Estill Voice training course. She regularly holds singing workshops, masterclasses and adjudicates. Her energy and expertise is highly sought after, leading choirs to hire Susan to guest at rehearsals where she has been dubbed the “Choir Doctor”!
