BDSSA Swimming

On Tuesday 4th December, the 104th annual BDSSA Swimming Championships was held at QEGS. 

Dancing Queen!

Year 10 student, Grace Moran, competed in the Irish Dancing North West Regional Oireachtas (a national competition) held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham.

BDSSA Cross Country

On the 1st December Westholme Senior School students braved the cold and wet weather at the BDSSA cross country, held at Witton Park.

Classics Theatre Trip

The Sixth Form Classics students visited the Lowry Theatre to watch a modern adaption of Aeschylus’ “Oresteia”.

Honor’s Big Build Competition 2018

The children in Construction Club at the Infant School have been very busy over the last few weeks. They have had the opportunity to enter ‘Honor’s Big Build Competition 2018’. This is in connection with Laing O’Rourke, a construction company who are making links to the local community.

Westholme Goes Homeless

On Saturday 24th November, a team of 55 Year 8 students, 13 Sixth Formers and 13 members of staff took on the almighty challenge of sleeping outside from 7pm to 7am the following morning, in a bid to raise money for two fantastic charities ‘Nightsafe’ and ‘Invisible Cities’ that support the homeless.

Young Speaker of the Year

Alice Beveridge, having gained a distinction in an English Speaking Board qualification, in Summer 2018, performed so well that she was selected, out of hundreds of students, to perform at an exclusive event at Liverpool’s Crowne Plaza Hotel.
