This November, Year 13 students began a series of sessions about personal finance skills delivered by independent financial advisors and representatives from HSBC bank.
The sessions were designed to teach students how to manage their money and help them make informed decisions about their finances. Through the sessions, students were encouraged to think about how their future at university and later in life and given advice on the best ways to budget, save and borrow money.
During the four sessions, students learnt about how to bank safely online including identity theft and scams, and in the run up to Christmas they will think about how to be a savvy shopper.
Other important topics such as credit scores, good and bad debt and getting on the property ladder were also covered to prepare our students for the future and equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to look after their finances.
