Year 10 Textiles students visit Platt Hall

Year 10 Textiles students visited Platt Hall in Manchester last week in order to carry out primary research for their GCSE coursework.

At Platt Hall they looked at historical garments and were lucky enough to see a new exhibit of Ossie Clark a very famous designer in the 1960-70’s, which the girls found very interesting.

Then they went to the Trafford Centre to carry out a shop report looking at trends, prices, fabrics and interesting design features (as well as looking at more modern garments!)

All of the information gained at both Platt Hall and the Trafford Centre will be important research to help inspire the students design work.
