These change termly, but over the past few terms they have included Sport’s Club, Martial Arts, Ballet, Junior Journalists, Cookery, Verse Speaking (where many of the children poetry performances in readiness for competing in the Blackburn Speech festival), yoga and Construction Club.

Trips, Visits and theme days

At Westholme Infants we aim to provide an enriched curriculum where children are excited and stimulated by their activities.

Trips, visits and visitors to school all add to this rich learning environment and ensure that pupils always remember their experiences. Curriculum trips are designed to support and enrich the curriculum, bringing learning to life others are put in to help develop the ‘whole’ child, building their resilience, independence, understanding of the world, general knowledge and developing their character. Recent trips have included ones to Beardwood Hospital, a local Bookshop, trips to the Lake district and to Fleetwood and to Judges Lodgings. We have had firemen in school, and themes days based around Polar Explorers, the Great Fire of London, and Chinese New Year and celebrated special days such as World Book Day, Sport’s relief and Children in Need to name but a few.
