Religious Education at the Infant School aims to promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of every child. The children are introduced to many major religions and are encouraged to respect the faiths of other cultures. The children are encouraged to share aspects of their own faiths and lives. Lessons in Religious Education allow the children to explore important festivals such as Divali, Eid, Christmas, Easter, Chinese New Year and Mothering Sunday.
Whole school assemblies take place throughout the week alongside class assemblies and reflection times. Children in Key Stage 1 have opportunities throughout the year to lead an assembly for the school. Parents are invited to celebrate with us at Christmas and Easter.
Videos, posters, artefacts, photographs and a wide range of creative activities are used to explore different religious beliefs. Trips are organised to places of worship in our locality.
