This week students have been busy rehearsing their performances for the ‘Rising Stars’ production which took place in the Croston Theatre on Thursday evening. There was a wide variety of stunning acts on show, from solo recitals to group dances and performances.
It really was an outstanding evening of entertainment with students across the Senior School from Year 7 to 13 showcasing their talents in dance, drama, music and song. On the night itself, all of their hard work and perseverance definitely paid off!
It was the first time Dr Robson had seen a full live public performance at Westholme since he joined as Principal last January, as a consequence of the pandemic. He commented, “It was well worth the wait! I was thrilled to see such a range of talents on show, moving the audience through laughter, pathos, delight and awe. It was a showcase which our students should be very proud of.
The talent and humble confidence I saw throughout are real hallmarks of Westholme pupils. I was also very glad to hear the new sound system packing a punch – it all bodes very well indeed for all our future performances! My thanks also go to the dedicated staff team who made it all happen. A memorable introduction indeed to the wonders of live performing arts at Westholme!”
