Safer Internet Day

Students at Westholme have been celebrating ‘Safer Internet Day’ along with those in over 100 countries around the world.

Dr Riley, Miss Cooper and 6 of our Year 10 digital leaders presented an assembly at our Junior School yesterday morning.  Evie, Charlotte, Zara, Clarke, Ahmad and Lara talked to our younger pupils about protecting their online individuality, identity and privacy.  The Deputy Head Mr Haworth, reminded all the children from Years 3 to 6 to remember to speak to their parents if they have any concerns online and always keep themselves safe.

Today, the Digital Leadership Team led an assembly for the Senior School students and discussed the various aspects of online identity and how we can make the internet a more welcoming and safer place; where people can feel equal, empowered and represented.

Year 10 students, Lara and Ahmad, also took over one of Mrs Cooper’s lessons to open up further discussion amongst the class.

Thanks to Dr Riley and her team for leading this important aspect of our wider education.
