Spoken English

The House Spoken English Competition

Westholme was delighted to have Mrs Christine McDonald judge the House Spoken English Competition today – Mrs McDonald’s last working day after twenty six years service to Westholme School. She said that she was particularly thrilled to have been asked to judge the Spoken English competition as preparing pupils for this event had been the highlight of each academic year for her.

First to speak was Grace Collum for Bowland, who spoke on the subject of Cryptids. Next, Lisa Yates, for Longridge, spoke about ‘Her Life as a Swimmer’. The subject of Cadets was the topic for Calder’s Sarah McHugh’s talk and finally Alicia Kenyon for Pendle gave an informed speech about Plastic Surgery.

Congratulations to Lisa Yates who was awarded the

House Spoken English Prize 2011 for Longridge.
