Sports Day Fun at Senior School

Sports Day at Senior School was contested today with great spirit and camaraderie.

Although the weather started off slightly cool, by lunchtime it had warmed up and helped to make the day a superb event.

The morning’s activities began with an array of track and field events including Hurdles, Long Jump, Javelin, Shot Put and Relay races. Every student could be seen pushing themselves that bit harder in a bid to win those all-important House points.

Soon enough it was time to break for lunch. Students and staff enjoyed a delicious barbecue – burgers, sausages, kebabs – everything needed to provide sustenance for our athletes going into the afternoon session.

Once refuelled, students took to the field to compete once again. The Tug of War event proved to be very popular indeed!

The day was such fun for everyone – a competitive spirit coupled with great team efforts meant that the event was a great success.

Congratulations went to Calder who won the event overall.

The results were as follows:

4th- Longridge

3rd- Pendle

2nd- Bowland

1st- Calder
