Year 1 and 2 pupils excitedly compete at their Sports’ Day
A wonderful week of Infant and Junior Sport culminated with the Year 1 and 2 Sports’ Day this afternoon.
Not deterred by the threat of rain, crowds of family and friends gathered on the field at Wilmar Lodge.
The children paraded onto the field in their Houses: Pendle arrived first, followed by Longridge and Bowland in quick succession, with each team leader carrying a hand made olympic torch.
The afternoon began with the sprint races, then came the over and under race, with the obstacle relay and the much anticipated parents’ race rounding off the afternoon.
The atmosphere was amazing! As the points scores were announced at frequent intervals throughout the afternoon all children were excitedly cheering on their peers to see who could secure the spot for the winning House.
Pendle were victorious overall, with Longridge and Bowland in second and third place respectively.
What a brilliant afternoon – well done to the children and thank you to the staff who organised it.
