Westholme Junior School hosts the AJIS Indoor Sportshall event at Robin Park
Westholme School once again hosted the AJIS Indoor Sportshall Competition at Robin Park in Wigan. With approximately 400 children taking part from 22 of the top north west Independent Schools, the event is one of the most popular sporting competitions in the calendar.
Children in each age category competed in 7 field events, 2 track events and 2 relays during the course of the day which provided for a wonderful day of sport.
Students produced some excellent performances with several sportshall records being broken. Westholme had 31 athletes taking part, made up of girls and boys in Years 5 and 6. As usual, they competed with great team spirit and determination. We were awarded with 14 medals in total in events including speed bounce, javelin, 3 lap and obstacle relay. Congratulations must also go to Christie Sturgess who set a new championship record in the U11 speedbounce event which secured her the gold medal.
