Upper Sixth Form stand down
Stand down marks the final official day that the students in Upper Sixth Form spend at Westholme. This important day in the school calendar is definitely one of celebration and reflection for both staff and students.
A week of stand down festivities began last week, when a special celebration afternoon was held in the Sixth Form Centre. This saw the outgoing School Officers officially hand over their duties to their new counterparts in the Lower Sixth.
Earlier today, the annual stand down assembly was, as always, full of entertainment from musical performances to the highly anticipated video clips. During her speech, Mrs Waldron commented that she would be sad to see the year group leave but wished them all the very best for the future.
After an emotional whole year group sing along, students made their way to the Common Room where they were met by their parents and enjoyed a buffet lunch. Here, girls reminisced about school trips, most memorable moments at Westholme and what they are going to miss most about leaving (lunches were high on the list!).
We would like to wish the class of 2015 lots of luck in their forthcoming examinations; go forth and keep the Westholme flag flying in whatever you do!
