Step back in time

Year 6 girls and boys visit Quarry Bank Mill

Year 6 girls and boys went back in time to find out what life was like living as a Victorian apprentice in a cotton mill.

All dressed in superb Victorian outfits, they spent the day at Quarry Bank Mill in Styal, Cheshire, where they took part in a spinning and weaving workshop, toured the mill to see spinning machines in action, and visited the Apprentice House.

It was a fun-packed day which also taught the pupils how hard life would have been over 150 years ago and made them realise how lucky they are living in the 21st century!
