The latest in our series of Alumni Talks: Teaching
The girls at Senior School were appreciative of the time two of our former pupils took to visit and tell their stories of teaching careers, in the latest of our Alumni World talks. The Old Westholmians had very different paths: Jane Brown had struggled academically but had finally fulfilled her dream as a primary school teacher and Rachel Hadjigeorgiou had experienced a diverse path before committing to a life as a secondary school teacher at Bolton School. They were both extremely enthusiastic, passionate and determined and these were the qualities which appeared time and again in their talks. They dispensed invaluable advice on the different routes into teaching, the expectations of the job and the nuts and bolts of daily life. It was insightful and motivational; we are very grateful to both Jane and Rachel for their time and energy.
