Representatives from the Legacy Rainbow House speak to students
This morning we welcomed Ms Joanne Mawdsley and Miss Amber Mitchell from The Legacy Rainbow House in to Senior School to speak to our students in assembly. Money raised from the collection at the Senior School Christmas Carol Service was donated to this worthwhile cause and Ms Mawdsley came to thank students and speak about the work they do.
The Legacy Rainbow House was created in 2001 by Ms Mawdsley who has two boys who both have a rare genetic disorder, resulting in brain damage and disability. It was her passion and drive to help her boys that founded this innovative service.
The Trust is now a national charity working with children with acquired brain injury, multiple disabilities and complex health needs. They are based at a 12 acre site in Mawdesley, Lancashire but offer our services to children from across the UK. The team aim to develop a child’s physical, emotional and social wellbeing, whilst increasing their health.
