North West Air Ambulance Triathlon
On Saturday, with the weather cloudy but dry, four members of staff from Billinge House took part in a triathlon in aid of the North West Air Ambulance. Firstly, Mrs Sutcliffe and Miss Byrom swam 1 mile in the waters of Coniston, whilst Mrs Carr kayaked to provide safety support.
They were then joined by Mrs Bolton and all four cycled 12 miles around the lake, followed by a 9 mile fell walk. Fun was had by all, even with tired legs!
The event was a great success which culminated in some well deserved fish and chips on the lake shore! This was the second part of our charity fundraiser for the North West Air Ambulance, the first being the sports themed day and cake sale at Billinge House last week. Our fundraising total is currently at £350. However we are hoping that this will increase further!
On Thursday 5th July, Air Ambulance Paramedic Mr Fraser-Clark and Mr Paul Kelly, who owes his life to the North West Air Ambulance, will attend a special assembly. We will present a cheque with the money raised for this worthwhile cause. Should you wish to make an additional donation prior to Thursday, please send it into the Infant School for ”˜NWAA – c/o Mrs Bolton’.
