Update from Head of INSPIRED Sixth Form, Mr Oracz

06/06/2025

As we build towards mock examinations for Year 12, students have to balance wider commitments and deadlines whilst also ensuring their revision timetable takes centre stage. With a couple of deadlines this week, it was pleasing to see the diligent and meticulous approach adopted by Year 12 students who had to produce the first draft of their personal statement, with a number also completing their formal proposals for their Extended Project Qualification submissions.

It is no mean feat to be able to keep all of the plates spinning at once, learning how to prioritise one task over another or having a balancing act that requires a methodical approach founded on hard work and commitment. I have to say how impressed I have been by our Year 12 students in coping with these wider demands, all whilst they continue to consolidate their A Level work and build towards their all important examinations. The independent work being completed is a shining example of how to succeed at A Level, so it has been a pleasure to see this mature approach continue in the same manner that has defined this dedicated year group since September.

A number of students were also fortunate to benefit from an Oxbridge session on personal statements and the college selection process, with OW Julia Gartold taking time out from her studies at Oxford to lead a session with our current applicants. We look forward to seeing those personal statements take shape, alongside all of the wider work being done in and out of lessons.
