W Club Summer fun

Fun filled activities

Last week, our W Clubbers had lots of fun and games as they took part in many different activities which kept them very busy indeed!

Monday began with an exciting day of medieval merriment! The children dressed up as Kings, Queens, Princesses and Knights and acted out different stories along with making crowns, swords, shields and flags – what fun!

Tuesday was all about dance and sport! The morning session was led by ballet teacher Miss Rebecca whilst the afternoon involved Martial Arts with our friends and experts Organised Chaos. It was a great chance for many children to learn new skills and try something different.

Children enjoyed a trip to Brockholes Nature Reserve on Wednesday seeing what they could spot. There were many different types of birds and plants and the children enjoyed a summer trail and pond dipping. They found a silver backed fish and many other bugs!

On Thursday, everyone brought their bike to W Club and had a lesson on road safety from Mr Wilson, from Billinge House.   He is a retired police officer, and taught the children many things including how to set off properly, looking over their shoulder to check for cars, signalling to turn and emergency stops. Later on, they enjoyed a competition to see who could weave in and out of narrow cones without hitting them. It was a wonderful day, thank you Mr Wilson.

Finally, Friday came and after all the dreadful weather, it was decided that a beach party was in order! The children enjoyed making fruit smoothies, eating ice cream and lovely fruit kebabs and of course playing beach games.

What a fabulous week for everyone involved!
