Your child will have grown and developed enormously by the time he or she is ready to go into Year 7. The Westholme experience continues at the Seniors. It is expected that Prep pupils will progress across to Seniors at Wilmar Lodge and all of the Year 6 students sit the entrance exam which takes place in the January preceding September entry. Throughout the school year, Prep students use all of the facilities at Wilmar Lodge for many activities and events including Sports’ Days, various performances in the Croston Theatre and the sportshall and swimming pools.
The students in Year 6 visit the Senior facilities every Thursday for a Transition Day, where they experience lessons that are on offer at Seniors including EPR and Computing. They are also taught by Senior staff. This ensures for a smooth transition when they actually join Seniors in Year 7. They also enjoy an induction day in the summer term of Year 6 where they get the opportunity to meet their new teachers and mix with many of their new friends. This helps them to see what life is like as a Senior student at Westholme.
