Well-travelled Lucy Baxter celebrates winning the Postcard Competition

In her assembly at the end of the Summer term, Miss Edgar challenged both staff and students to make the most of their time on holiday and to do as many exciting things as possible. Students and staff were encouraged to send her a postcard telling of their adventures.

When Miss Edgar returned from Borneo her letter tray was full of postcards!  Westholme staff and pupils have been very busy over the summer. Mrs Lewis saw a wild black bear whilst exploring the National Parks of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia! Mrs Croston tried to learn Polish whilst attending Mr Marsden’s wedding. Mr Oracz managed to squeeze in three trips – to Rome, Las Vegas and Marbella!

Pupils also had a very busy summer – Poppy Sparrow was in London performing with the National Youth Theatre, Nikitha Aithal worked for the Red Cross in Poitiers and Baylee-Jay Maddison Mahoney bumped into the Dutch world cup football squad and the Canadian Olympic synchronized swimming team in Aruba, in the Dutch West Indies!

However there was a winner – Lucy Baxter in 8W.  Lucy sent Miss Edgar a postcard from the French Alps. During her time in Europe she managed to visit six European countries in just five days!
