Wonderful WISPA

The cast of WISPA perform ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Last night saw the Westholme Theatre come alive as the Year 4 WISPA students took to the stage to perform Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.   From the outset, it was clear to see that the young actors and actresses had worked very hard learning their lines, perfecting their singing voices and even polishing off their dance routines.

They told the story of the handsome prince who is transformed into a hideous beast as punishment for his selfish actions. To become human again, he must earn the love of a beautiful young woman that he imprisons in his castle or else remain a beast forever.

With great comic timing throughout, the lead roles were ably assisted by the supporting characters, and it was evident that being part of this cast, never mind how big or small their role, was an extremely enjoyable experience for each and every child.

The message throughout – never judge a book by its cover, was told with charm and emotion and it was hard to believe that the cast were merely 8 years old.

Well done to the entire WISPA cast.   A special mention must go to Mrs Daley, Mrs Butler and Mr Harrison for pulling it all together. It was a wonderful evening!
