Y6 Quarry Bank Mill Trip

On Wednesday 9th October 2019 the children of Y6 were transported back in time when they visited Quarry Bank Mill and became Victorian Mill workers.

As part of their history curriculum the children from The Junior School left their modern day comforts behind as they experienced daily life and the routine of an apprentice.

They took part in lessons in the schoolroom under the watchful eye of the strict Victorian housemistress Mrs. Shawcross before being shown the delights of the chamber pot in their dorms.

The children were surprised to learn about the medical remedies of this era such as blood sucking leeches.

After experiencing the noise of the machinery in the mill, the children were grateful to be living in modern times.
