Year 2 celebrate World Book Day

quiz night

Year 2 pupils enjoy a trip to the Junior Schools to celebrate World Book Day

The pupils in Year 2 enjoyed a trip to the Junior Schools to celebrate World Book Day.   They each chose one of their favourite books to take with them, so they could read and discuss it with their older friends.

Some of the girls enjoyed being paired up with the Year 3 children and reading their chosen book.   They discovered they even liked some of the same books! Others enjoyed listening to stories the Year 3 children had written during their lessons.

The boys were taken to Beardwood House to enjoy listening to stories the Year 6 boys read to them.   They had also taken their favourite book to share with their older friends.

By the end of the session, they had all clearly enjoyed themselves.   Year 2 children commented on some of the stories they had heard by saying, ”˜it had been the best story they had ever listened to’ and that the Horrid Henry story had been ”˜really funny!’
