The House Event

The Year 6 House Public Speaking Competition was held this afternoon, and what a fabulous event it turned out to be!

Topics ranged from Walt Disney and Sir Alan Sugar, to Bizarre Competitions and Mexico. Adjudicator, Mrs Hiller, Head of English at Senior School, commented that some of this year’s topics were extremely sophisticated – Votes for Women, Stereotyping Religion and Poaching in South Africa certainly fell into this category!

All students spoke with confidence and it was clear to see that they had all researched their chosen topics well. Props were used appropriately and many talks were humorous throughout and had the audience captivated.

All too soon it was time for Mrs Hiller to select the winners – no easy task! After providing useful feedback to each speaker, the following results were announced:

Boys:
3rd place – Alexander Galiatsatos (Bizarre Competitions)
2nd place – Billy Corrigan (Games Consoles)
1st place – Ahmed Saidan (The Dead Sea)
