Year 6 pupils visit Stockport Air Raid Shelter

1940’s evacuees trip

The pupils in Year 6 visited Stockport Air Raid Shelter and the Stockport Story Museum. They left Westholme School dressed up as evacuees complete with gas maskes, teddies and identity labels.

On arrival, they took part in an historical role-play, experiencing life as a child in the 1940’s. They were able to see some costumes from the time period and also ate a typical 1940’s style lunch.

What a fantastic day they all had.
