Year 9 – Art Workshop

Art club on Thursday evening was even busier than usual this week as Year 9 Art students were invited to attend workshop sessions as a reward for all their efforts in class.

Half of the group experimented with paint pouring techniques, using a secret recipe and some vibrant acrylic colours to create spontaneous pieces. Every student created their own canvas to take home and they all achieved some fantastic results!

The other half of the group worked with glass materials to create their own fused panel inspired by patterns and nature. Dichroic shards, various grades of glass frit, glassline pens and stringers were combined to generate images onto a clear glass base.

All the final pieces will be fired next week in the kiln and we cannot wait to see them mounted in their frames. Well done to all those who attended for your excellent responses and willingness to try something new! More workshops will follow later in the year, watch this space!
