AJIS Cross Country

Cross country teams compete at Rossall

The Year 5 and Year 6 cross country teams went to Rossall for the AJIS Cross Country event.   This was the second attempt as the course was completely waterlogged in October.   It was VERY cold but the girls and boys were keen to run.

The Year 6 girls ran extremely well with several of them right near the front. They ran with the usual Westholme grit trying not to let other runners go past and finished extremely well in  5th  place. The same determination was shown by the Year 6 boys, who ran a great race, finishing in  8th place.

Their Year 5 team-mates were not to be outdone.   The girls set off at a superb pace and kept it going all the way to the finish. They were spread out among the field and it was lovely seeing purple vests doing so well. Everyone ran their very best, and during the whole race there was one determined purple vest, worn by Amy Dowsing. Her sheer determination brought her home in first place with the team finishing in 12th place.  The boys also ran brilliantly, and, after some great performances, their team finished in 9th place.

Well done to all our runners!
