Orienteering, team-building and fun at Hothersall
The Year 7 boys took their first foray into the world of Geography fieldtrips. Wrapped up well against the cold March weather the boys grappled with problem-solving activities, pondered over pond life and navigated their way through a very challenging orienteering course. After studying map skills throughout the autumn term our young Geographers were ready to skilfully interpret their orienteering maps, and were seen careering from one control point to another, through the diverse terrain at Hothersall Lodge.
The day was all about team building, a vital skill for Geography fieldwork, and the boys ably rose to every contest. Who would have thought that safely negotiating a ropes course whilst gripping onto a rubber duck could be so much fun!
