Girls in 5W study portraits at the Harris Museum, Preston
Did you know that a portrait is more than just a painting?
The budding artists in 5W spent a morning discovering how to interpret the information hidden in portraits at the Harris Museum, Preston.
Museum Education Officer, Dawn Worthington, lead the children in activities which included looking for clues and symbols, inventing stories behind paintings and drawing their own portraits.
Now they will be following up their visit in the classroom, studying Tudor portraits and creating artwork using a variety of media.
