Psychology students create toys!
The Westholme Upper Sixth psychology students have been studying cognitive development, the process of how children learn and acquire certain skills.
One of the girls’ tasks was to design a toy aimed at children aged 0 – 2 years. The toy needed to link to Piaget’s stage one theory and incorporate all the skills that Piaget said the child should have acquired by that stage. The creation of a TV broadcast was also part of the girls’ brief.
The winning toys were created by Rachel Natrass & Afshah Ahmed and Sarah Mrozek & Sophie Taylor. Both groups created a basic pop-up toy – but with added twists! Congratulations to the students on their innovative ideas!
