Congratulations from everyone at Westholme to Eloise, who received an offer to study English and French at the prestigious St Hugh’s College, at Oxford University. Her four-year course will include a year abroad for her third year.
Eloise, 17, needs AAA to secure her place. She is studying A-Levels in English Literature, French, Spanish and Classical Civilisation here. She said: “I am very excited, but I was a bit surprised to hear I’d been accepted. I love languages and literature and studying these subjects has been the best way to spend the last two years. I wanted to carry on studying French, and I love English Literature. I can’t wait to go to Oxford University. I’m looking forward to the whole opportunity – the people and the course. I’m really grateful for all the support Westholme have continued to give me during my time at school.” When asked about her longer-term career goals, she said she is keeping her options open at the moment.
Eloise’s proud parents, Alison and James, said: “Eloise is very pleased and excited to be offered a place at Oxford University, and we are delighted for her. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time at Westholme and is now looking forward to the challenges which lie ahead. She has been given great support by all her teachers at school and we would like to thank them for all their encouragement and for providing such a happy and nurturing environment in which to discover her strengths and fulfil her potential.” Eloise, who also enjoys playing the flute and walking, has attended Westholme since starting senior school in Year 7. Dr Robson, said: “Huge congratulations to Eloise on gaining an offer to study at St Hugh’s College, Oxford. All of us at Westholme School are very proud of her achievement. Well done!”
