The Upper Sixth Form students’ Extended Project Evening
Governors, invited guests, parents and staff all enjoyed a superb display of this year’s Upper Sixth Extended Projects in the Theatre on Tuesday 1st May. Twenty six girls completed this optional course alongside their A level studies in the hope that it will also enable them to achieve the AQA Baccalaureate.
A wide range of projects were displayed including the creation of an original comic book, a study into the government’s current financial policy and an assessment of Kate Middleton as a style icon. The hard work, passion and individuality of each project were clear to see and it was fascinating to discuss with the students their reasons for their choice of project, what they had learnt and how they had developed essential study skills that should stand them in good stead for university life.
Well done to all the students who took part and a big thank you to everyone who showed their support by attending the exhibition. Presenting the projects is part of the formal assessment for the Extended Project so the interest and support shown by all the guests was invaluable in enabling the students to perform at their best.
