Germany Trip

On Thursday 11th July, Mrs Buckley, Mrs Bowker and Mr Cornwall took 27 Year 8 and Year 9 pupils to the Rhineland in Germany.

On arrival in Oberwesel, the group took in the beautiful scenery and wonderful views of the river and had a downhill walk to the Eiscafe that evening to taste the delights of the Italian ice-cream.

The next day, the group enjoyed a boat trip along the Rhine looking at the vineyards and castles and then went onto Trier, Germany’s oldest city to have some shopping time and to enjoy a Pretzel or two.  Later that afternoon, the group enjoyed an afternoon bowling before heading back to the youth hostel for an evening swim before quiz night.

On Saturday, the pupils and staff visited Cochem Castle and had an insightful tour learning about the history of the castle.  After going for lunch and buying souvenirs, the pupils had an afternoon at Tauris swimming pool and fortunately got to swim in the outdoor pool in the sunshine!

On the last day, spent the day at Phantasialand themepark going on lots of rides and enjoying the enormous pizzas and waffles on offer.

Everyone had a fantastic time and for many it was their first time in Germany but certainly not their last!
