Year 2 children learn important life saving skills
Year 2 children took part in a swimming life saving session, led by Mrs Sutcliffe and Miss Byrom. The children, kitted out in pyjamas, hats, gloves socks and shoes learnt vital skills that would help them if they got into difficulty whilst in the water.
First, they learnt how to swim and tread water whilst fully clothed. Other vital skills were also taught, and the children listened intently whilst Mrs Sutcliffe delivered her instructions.
Finally, they learnt how to make a float using their pyjama bottoms.
With the summer holidays fast approaching, and many of the children going to be playing in or near to the water, the session proved to be extremely important. Thank you to Mrs Sutcliffe and Miss Byrom.
