Making History!

Swimming Champions 2016!

Yesterday 18 boys made Westholme history when they were crowned Blackburn & Darwen Swimming Champions!

This is a first for our senior boys to be Town Champions. However, it came as no surprise as they have been very close in recent events and this year they have all worked extremely hard; training twice a week from September!

They have been focusing on marginal gains, trying to find small improvements in their technique to improve their overall speed and goodness, it really did pay off!

Team 1

Seven schools entered the gala held at QEGS and we had at least 1 swimmer in every final. Special congratulations to James Brabender, who won the Year 7 Front Crawl race, and Sam Hancock, who won the Year 7 Backstroke race. It was a great event and one our boys will always remember.

However, the hard work does not stop here; they will be training tonight in preparation for their gala vs Ripley St Thomas on Wednesday 14th December.
