Westholme’s Year 7 girls experience a day in Year 8
On 13th June Westholme’s Year 7 girls had a fantastic ”˜Move to Year 8 Day’. The girls spent the morning taking part in team-building activities which tested their ability to follow instructions, emphasizing the importance of effective communication. The girls had a wonderful time despite the torrential rain! The girls spent the afternoon in lecture theatre – looking at presentation, organisational skills and how using technology to communicate with one another outside of school can lead to a message being interpreted wrongly.
The day was rounded off with an end of year treat – a Pamper Party. This had been organised by the Year 12 Business Studies students. The Sixth form common room was transformed into a pink paradise and the girls had a chance to have a photo-shoot and get their nails painted and their hair styled. The girls enjoyed a delicious party tea and the whole evening was a huge success!
“Overall I think the day has been good it has taught me important lessons
that I need in the future.”
“It was really fun. I enjoyed the morning activities even in the rain!”
“It was fun and I was able to learn about the people in other classes and work
with different people”.
“It was enjoyable and has prepared us for Year 8.”
