Simon Beyries, Westholme’s French Assistant, selected for Olympic duty!
We were delighted to learn that Simon Beyries, Westholme’s French Assistant, has been appointed as the 2012 Olympic Games French announcer for the football events. Simon’s role will be to announce the names of the athletes, teams and medals won. He will also translate English instructions into French and announce these to the spectators. The events will take place at Saint James’ Park, Newcastle from July 23rd to August 4th.
Simon is extremely excited at playing his part in the 2012 Olympics Games. He said, ”˜Thanks to my language skills, I can enjoy one of my biggest passions, sport, even though I would have preferred to be participating as an athlete!’ Simon intends to keep a diary and write articles entitled A French Announcer at the Olympics – all in French, of course! Westholmers will, no doubt, be tuning in and listening out for their very own Language Assistant!
