Short Story Competition

Short Story competition – winners announced

Years 7 and 8 submitted some wonderful entries to Westholme’s Short Story competition in celebration of National Short Story Week.   School Librarian, Mrs Hall and the English department staff really enjoyed reading all the entries and were impressed by the high standard of presentation, narrative and written style.  

Mrs Hall made the final, difficult decision as to the final three winners:  

1^st Place – Maddie Laing (8W)
with her story entitled ”˜Living the Hard Life’ which had a clever twist at the end.

2^nd Place – Katriona Privonitz-Smith (8W)
with a story centred upon an intriguing riddle.

3^rd Place – Anna Clegg (7L)
with a beautifully presented story incorporating different narrative perspectives.
