Sixth Form Life for Year 10

Year 10 students enjoy their Sixth form experience

Westholme’s Year 10 group entered the world of Sixth Form today,  with taster sessions in many Advanced level subjects in preparation for the next in their educational journey.     The girls were keen to try out lessons in Sixth Form-only subjects such as Classics, Business Studies, Photography and Psychology, combined with hearing about more familiar subjects, yet from a more demanding Advanced Level angle. The atmosphere was informal as they were able to ask questions of the teachers and of the current Lower Sixth students.

A  wonderful lunch was enjoyed and then girls were able to relax in the Sixth Form common room.   Year 10 looked very much the part in their black and white Sixth Form attire as they took advantage of the comfy common room sofas and chilled out with music and chat.   Many of the girls commented that they hadn’t realised quite how different life as a Sixth Former would be, and how much more freedom there is.   It was a good opportunity for Year 10 to gain insight into Sixth Form life, and to see firsthand the excellent rapport between students and staff.   A glimpse into the future of their exciting next stage!
