Spoken English Competition

House Talks for Year 7

Today saw the final of Westholme’s annual Speaking competition, affectionately known by the pupils as ”˜House Talks’.   Rabia Majid of 7L ably opened the proceedings, explaining the use of brain teasers in keeping our brains active before testing us on a few of her own.   Rabia was followed by 7T’s Owen Greenwood-Dawson whose intimate knowledge of all things football impressed us all.   Imogen Barrass of 7M followed with a moving talk about the plight of Anne Frank before Katrina Nelson (7L), the overall winner of the competition, entertained us with a lively presentation about her scuba diving.

All four of our Year 7 speakers excelled themselves this morning.   We are very proud of them.   We are also grateful to Vice Principal, Mrs Patefield, who had the very difficult task of choosing a Westholme winner.
