Year 5 girls enjoy a Geography Field Trip
Year 5 enjoyed an exciting geography field trip to Clapham, in the Yorkshire Dales.
They had a fascinating tour of Ingleborough Cave and spent time studying the width, depth and speed of flow of Clapham Beck in addition to finding invertebrates in the stream.
The day was extra special as the weather was perfect and the bluebells were at their best along the nature trail.
Westholme helped to prepare me for my path into politics – my time at the school gave me the knowledge and the confidence that I could achieve anything. Anything at all!
Westholme helped me to understand that in life hard work always beats natural talent. So, everywhere I go now I always make sure I’m working harder than my competition – this allows me to achieve my dreams.
At Westholme I was taught that no dream was too big. We were encouraged to aim for the stars, which I did and succeeded! Knowing I had their constant support even to this day, anything was possible.
At Westholme, aspirations were encouraged strongly, along with a clear ethos that working hard was the way to achieve them. It’s an attitude that has been incredibly positive for me.
More than anything, Westholme taught me to be fearless in my aspirations. It was an environment which encouraged me to stay true to myself, and to treasure and cultivate my creativity.
I think that it is extremely important that people aim for the best and keep their aspirations for the future high. Aspirations and dreams are hugely motivating.
