Interactive learning for children in Year 3
The ‘History Man’, Adrian Warrell, visited Year 3 today dressed as archaeologist, Howard Carter, to talk about Ancient Egypt.
Mr Warrell enthused the children about The Gifts of the Nile through role play and handling artefacts. The children enjoyed playing traditional Egyptian games, learnt more about being an archaeologist, made their own scarab beetle, ground corn to make flour and even flooded the land using the River Nile.
Great fun was had and the children’s learning was brought to life by this interactive lesson. The children are now looking forward to learning more about the topic, particularly about pyramids, mummies and Tutankhamen.
