An exciting visit for Year Two!
Year Two children enjoyed an exciting visit to inspire their topic of transport old and new. Mrs Bolton’s husband Paul came to school and brought a 1950’s Dot motorcycle and his KTM Enduro motorbike.
The children compared differences between the bikes and even got to see things that they had been talking about in class, like aerodynamic designs. They found out that a motorbike even has a piston and a cylinder similar to the engines that they saw at the Museum of Science and Industry.
Before giving the children a show of what his modern bike can do, the children had to name the safety equipment and explain why he needed a helmet, boots, gloves, goggles and protective clothing. An audience then quickly gathered with children from every year group coming to have a peep!
