UCLAN Science Festival

Year 4 enjoyed their second trip in as many days as they visited the UCLan Science Festival.
Today’s activities included ‘The Jack and the Beanstalk Science Show’ where the children learned about the science behind the traditional tale. It turns out that for the beanstalk to grow tall, it would have to have had a diameter of 40 metres!
The boys and girls used VR technology to feel what it would be like to walk on the moon, and created their own marble runs.
The day also included a ‘Big Data’ workshop, where the children were able to discover how many other people born in their birth year shared their name. One member of the group discovered that he was one of only a handful of boys to have his name for the year of his birth!
An added bonus was the glorious sunshine we enjoyed – a fantastic day!
