World Book Day

Today the children at our Infant and Junior Schools celebrated World Book Day early with an action packed day of activities and fun!

The children were encouraged to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book and even the teachers joined in with enthusiasm and dressed up!

In the morning there were special assemblies and the children had fun showing off their costumes, parading in front of their friends and teachers.

Throughout the day the pupils enjoyed book related activities and competitions during lesson time, such as book making, making models of favourite characters, writing book reviews or letters to their favourite author, designing alternative book covers and playing book-based games.

In the afternoon, the Junior students walked to Billinge House and joined the younger children in their classrooms so that they could read together, a tradition which all of the children thoroughly enjoy.

World Book Day is an opportunity to inspire our pupils to read every day, to love books and open up a world of stories and life long learning.

Thank you to all of the staff for organising such  a fantastic day!
