Elizabeth makes National Tennis Quarter Finals

Congratulations to Elizabeth in Year 11, on her recent success in the world of tennis!

Over the Easter break, Elizabeth travelled down to London to play in the U16 Junior National Championships at the National Tennis Centre.

Elizabeth entered both the singles and doubles competitions, and was testing her skills against some of the best players in the country. Wildcard entries into this year’s Junior Wimbledon were up for grabs to the winners. 

Whilst unfortunately Elizabeth lost in the qualifying for the singles event, she bounced back to do extremely well in the doubles! She teamed up with a partner from Dorset and played very well to reach the quarter finals, were they lost a very close match to the top seeded pair.  

As well as playing in the Nationals, she has also recently played in the U16 Welsh Open, a National Tour event. She played with another girl from Lancashire in the doubles event, where they reached the final. Another great effort.
