Update from Head of INSPIRED Sixth Form, Mr Oracz

This week, the Sixth Form was filled with nostalgia, heart-warming sentiments, a few happy tears, and a whole lot of gratitude. Our Student Executive hosted an emotional assembly as we came together as a school to celebrate and thank our Year 13 students who now stand down from Westholme and look forward to their exciting next steps as our graduating class.

With videos of their performances in Prep Reception class, all the way through to hilarious moments now in the Sixth Form, their journey from 4-18 has been a rich and fulfilling start to their journey, and we are so proud of the students who now leave as, ready to take on the world.

It was also a wonderful atmosphere in the common room, as families and friends joined the students for a celebratory lunch. I would like to offer my sincere thanks to our Year 13 parents for your continued support over the years. Your trust in us to guide and help shape your children is so important, and I am so happy that you got to share in that culmination of their time on Wednesday.

Every student has made their mark on the school and we are grateful for every part that they have played during their time at Westholme. As our leaders wrote in their final Westholme Weekly article last week, these “heart-felt goodbyes have exciting beginnings”, and whilst that next step into the unknown can feel daunting, I known that Year 13 will all embrace it as confident, talented, leading individuals that are destined for immense success.

Westholme is a family, and we are sad when the time comes for some of that family to move on. But the people they’ve become, the memories made, the moments shared that will last a lifetime, every one of them is the heart of the Sixth Form and we are proud of all they have accomplished throughout their time.

Tonight, we have a final celebration as we host our Stand Down Ball in the Croston Theatre, an occasion filled with a delectable three-course meal, awards, presentations, performances and a party atmosphere. We will, of course, be giving our final thanks this evening, but I would like to use this Westholme Weekly post to formally thank our class of 2025 and wish them all the best of luck in their exams and beyond.
