Update from the Head of Prep, Mrs Hornby

What a lovely and purposeful week we have had here at Prep, filled with both fun and focus. Our ‘Break the Rules Day’ was a tremendous success and served as a perfect, hands-on introduction to a very important topic. Following the excitement, we spent our Transition Day exploring why we have rules and how they keep our community safe, happy and fair. The children engaged in brilliant discussions about how rules and routines will naturally differ in their new classes, preparing them thoughtfully for the move up in September. Wednesday was full of excitement and the children are more than ready for the challenges of their next year group. We all enjoyed meeting the new pupils that will be joining us next term and look forward to getting to know them better.
The sense of occasion continues, as the children are now busily preparing for our annual Prep Prizegiving. There is a real buzz of excitement in the corridors as they rehearse and reflect on a year of significant personal and academic growth.
On that note, we had cause for huge celebration this week when our LAMDA examination results arrived. We were absolutely delighted to see that a very high percentage of our children were awarded a Distinction, a true testament to their hard work, courage and developing confidence. A special moment of collective pride came when we shared the news of Nell’s perfect 100% score in our Celebration assembly this morning; this is an outstanding and rare achievement. Well done to all our performers!
